Exploiting Motor Modules in Modular Contexts

Recently there has been a growing interest in modeling motor control systems with modular structures. Such control structures have many interesting properties, which have been described in recent studies. This chapter focuses on some properties which are related to the fact that specific set of contexts can themselves be modular. Specifically, it shows that the adaptation of a modular control structure can be guided by the modularity of contexts, by means of interpreting the current unexperienced context as the combination of previously experienced contexts.
